Join us for the Seeds Of Love Earth Day Activities

Our Goals: 

  1. Create awareness of the Seeds of Love initiative and encourage the community to participate in Seeds of Love activities

  2. Create awareness of the BVITB’s efforts to promote sustainable tourism

  3. Create awareness of the events to encourage voluntourism

Jost Van Dyke

Scheduled Voluntourism activity with visiting family. 15 trees – 8 seagrape trees and 7 coconut trees.

April 20

“Jost Van Dykes Preservation Society” is hosting a “Green” Poker Run on April 20 whereby participants will utilize anything that is not powered by fuel or electricity. On this day, Seeds of Love will conduct a planting of 5 seagrape trees at Foxy’s Taboo. Richie Spice will collaborate on Seeds of Love planting.

Plant donations at Cyril B. Romney Pier Park and Spanish Town Dock

Akeem Leonard of Greencrete VI will make a presentation at Robinson O’Neal Memorial of what he does at Greencrete and the importance of recycling. He will also speak on why planting trees are important.  Our Environmental Officer Jahnai Caul will speak on why planting trees are important.  They will conduct a planting with students of a Caribbean Cherry tree and a soursop tree.  Plants will be donated by Greencrete.

Anegada

The Green Sprouts CCEC Program (Claudia Creque Educational Centre, Anegada's public school) have dedicated sections of their Anegada gardens to produce food crops specifically for the National Parks Trust's Iguana Head Start Program.  In addition to assisting with these plantings, Seeds of Love will donate soil and shade cover to the Green Sprouts CCEC program.

The Ministry of Transportation, Works and Utilities have assisted us in obtaining an area at the Sugar Works Museum whereby we will conduct a beautification planting.  The Ministry of Transportation, Works and Utilities is working on irrigation.  We are enlisting volunteers to assist with this project.
